Abstract

We propose a practical fiber optic probe, which uses a fiber patch cord and an anti-reflection coated ball lens for dental optical coherence tomography imaging. The probe has benefits of compactness, long working distance as well as comfort and oral hygiene for patients. With the proposed probe, the image of a human tooth, having enamel, dentin, dento-enamel junction and crack, was successively obtained.
