Actively-Q-switched Yb-doped photonics crystal fiber laser for 10 ns pulse in millijoule level

Abstract

A Q-switched ytterbium-doped photonic crystal fiber laser generates a 1030-nm pulse with energy of ~1.2 mJ at 10 ns in near diffraction-limited beam quality. The system performance is characterized for the design of further power scaling.
