Abstract

Titanium dioxide isopropyl sol-gels layers have been constructed for use within optical fibres in a simplified method based on cold drying as compared to common methods of sol-gel preparation that rely on heat treatment. The surface uniformity of these titania sol-gels are analyzed by spectroscopy in order to assess their properties and suitability for functionalized substrates such as porphyrin.
