Sub-frequency noise optical fibre strain sensing

Abstract

We present a new interferometric technique for fibre strain sensing, where the system is immune to laser frequency fluctuations. We implement this digital post processing technique experimentally, demonstrating improvements of over 30 dB in resolution.
