Abstract

The emission spectra of quantum cascade lasers measured as a function of current show two wavelength peaks, separated by 100 to ~400 nm. The optical output vs current curves also exhibit two separate structures at low duty cycles, indicating two different lasing conditions originating from two different transition levels.
