Abstract

We have separated amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) from main pulses and investigated its temporal characteristics in a 10-TW Ti: sapphire laser. We made a small gap in the spectrum of seed pulses and, after amplification, detected the pure ASE signal through the gap by using a fast photodiode.
