Unitary Variable Threshold Optical Limiter without Bulky Optical Systems

Abstract

We propose a unitary variable threshold optical limiter that consists of a bacteriorhodopsin (bR) film and a diffractive grating without any bulky optical systems. We performed a preliminary experiment and verified the basic operation of the proposed configuration.
