Abstract

A two-wavelength WDM externally modulated transport system employing PCF as a dispersion compensation device to compensate the Fiber dispersion and to reduce the XPM induced crosstalk is proposed and demonstrated. In comparison a two-wavelength WDM externally modulated transport system without using PCR good performances of CSO and CTB were obtained accompanied by acceptable CNR in our proposed system over a combination of 100-km SM1: and 3.6-km PCR
