Polarization-dependent enhanced optical transmission through one-dimensional subwavelength slit arrays

Abstract

We report on the properties of optical transmission through one-dimensional subwavelength slit arrays perforated in an Au metal film. We found that the transmission through slits had strong polarization dependencies and the normalized transmittance exceeded unity as the width of the slit becomes less than 100 nm.
