Solid-state laser for laser altimeter in Chang'E Lunar Explorer

Abstract

A compact, actively Q-switched Nd:YAG laser has been developed for laser altimeter in China Chang'E lunar explorer. It passed all space-flight environmental tests at subsystem and satellite successfully, and will be launched in October, 2007. This paper will present it's configuration, specification, and the result of lifetime test.
