Asymmetric optical filters based on asynchronous coupled microring resonators

Abstract

Asynchronously-tuned coupled microring filters of the most general coupling topology are proposed for realizing high-order asymmetric spectral responses. A method for synthesizing and optimizing these multiple-coupled microring filters is presented along with numerical results.
