Abstract

Quick and accurate sizing of particles 100-500 nm in diameter undergoing Brownian motions with concentration below 1 ppm in water has been successfully demonstrated using a self-mixing thin-slice Nd:GdVO4 laser with laser-diode pumping. A lower concentration limit as low as 0.05 ppm was achieved for 262-nm polystyrene latex spheres.
