Effect of Optical Feedback on 17-GHz Quantum Dash Based Mode Locked Lasers

Abstract

The effect of optical feedback is investigated for a quantum-dash-based passive mode-locked laser. We observe a drastic reduction of the radio frequency spectrum linewidth even beyond the onset of coherence collapse. ©2010 Optical Society of America
