Plasma-Mirror-Cleaned High-Contrast Few-Cycle Relativistic-Intensity Light Pulses

Abstract

A plasma mirror is shown to enhance the intensity contrast of 8fs multiterawatt light pulses by 2.5 orders of magnitude, while keeping the pulse duration unchanged. High reflectivity and improved near-field beam quality are demonstrated.
