Efficient Coupler between Silicon and Polymer Waveguides

Abstract

We propose an efficient optical coupler between sub-micron sized silicon waveguides on chip and multi-micron wide polymer waveguides on board. We show low coupling loss < 0.4 dB with high tolerance to misalignment.
