Raman amplification at 800 nm in single-mode fiber for biological sensing and imaging

Abstract

We report the first experimental demonstration of Raman amplification in a fiber at wavelengths near 800 nm and propose its application to fast real-time optical sensing and imaging in this technologically important band.
