Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect probed using Ultrafast High-Order Harmonic EUV Light

Abstract

We use tabletop high harmonics to detect the EUV transverse magneto-optical Kerr effect from a permalloy sample. We measure large asymmetries, up to 6%, around the M absorption edges of Fe (54eV) and Ni (67eV).
