Femtosecond laser induced plasma diffraction gratings in air

Abstract

The creation of a volume plasma density grating in air by two intersecting high-intensity IR femtosecond laser pulses is demonstrated experimentally. The detailed characterization of the grating is conducted based on its diffraction properties.
