Passively Generated High Repetition Rate Pulse Bursts Using a Fiber Laser with a Polarization Maintaining Section

Abstract

Pulse bursts of sub-THz rates are passively generated in a mode locked fiber laser. Repetition rates are controlled by the differential group delay of an intra cavity polarization maintaining fiber. Simulations and experiments are reported.
