Fibre Transfer of High Stability Microwave References with Optical Frequency Combs

Abstract

The 100 MHz repetition rate of a mode-locked erbium-doped fibre laser has been transmitted over 100 km of spooled fibre. With only passive dispersion compensation, short-term frequency instability below 4 × 10−14 has been demonstrated.
