Efficient mid-IR spectral generation via 4th order cascaded-Raman amplification

Abstract

A simple and robust 2.14 um fiber-based laser source is demonstrated via higher order cascaded Raman scattering in silica fiber. The temporal and spectral characteristics of the laser are compared with simulations.
