Abstract

We demonstrate a high-spectral-efficient LR-PON (100km without dispersion-compensation) using 4Gb/s OFDM-QAM for both up-and-downstream, achieving a high split-ratio of 256, using optical components optimized for GPON (~1GHz). Rayleigh-backscattering performance of the OFDM-QAM is also studied.
