Abstract

We report the characteristics of a wavelength swept laser with a scanning fiber Fabry-Perot filter in the 1300 nm. We investigate the dependence of the scanning frequencies of the conventional and Fourier domain mode-locked (FDML) wavelength swept laser. In the FDML swept laser, the transient intensity profiles and the tuning bandwidths were investigated according to the injection currents and detuning of the scanning frequency. In addition, the transient intensity profiles showed significant asymmetric behavior according to the detuned frequencies.
