Distance dependant amplification of molecular fluorescence via photonic crystal slabs

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental verification of near-field fluorescence amplification from PC slabs is performed. Key results indicate absence of quenching at small resonator-molecule separations and ability to tune the interaction volume to accommodate various fluorescent assays.
