Abstract

Ultrafast time-resolved interferometry was used to investigate the six-photon ionization in dielectrics irradiated by linearly and circularly polarized femtosecond laser pulses. The theoretically predicted dominance of linear polarization in high-order multiphoton ionization is demonstrated.
