Domain inversion in lithium niobate crystals assisted by photorefractive space-charge fields

Abstract

Utilizing the photorefractive effect, space-charge fields are recorded in near-stoichiometric, iron-doped lithium niobate crystals. Together with an external electric field these can lead to tailored inversion of ferroelectric domains.
