Ultra-low time jitter pulse source using mode-locked fiber laser as a high-Q resonator

Abstract

Coupled opto-electronic oscillator, a ultra-low time jitter pulse source, can be modeled as a microwave oscillator with mode-locked laser (MLL) as a mi- crowave resonator. The quality factor of the MLL was measured to be > 2×106.
