Advances in Ti: Sapphire and Er fiber based femtosecond laser frequency comb systems

Abstract

Erbium doped fiber femtosecond lasers can efficientl y be frequency doubled to 780 nm and subsequently broadened in a nonlinear fiber. Frequency combs created with such a setup may replace Ti: Sa lasers in frequency metrology applications.
