Mid- IR Laser Transitions in Nd3+ Doped CaGa2S4, PbGa2S4, and PbCl2 Laser Crystals

Abstract

Multiphonon and radiative relaxation of mid-IR laser transitions is analyzed in neodymium doped calcium and lead thiogallates and lead chloride laser crystals. Higher radiative and much lower nonradiative rates are found comparing to fluorides.
