Light Propagation in a Nonlinear Plasmonic Nanowire

Abstract

Nonlinear transmission of optical nanowires consisting of metallic spheres embedded in dielectric nanoshells made of Kerr material is demonstrated. Nonlinear optical phenomena, such as power dependence of mode frequency, switching, or optical limiting are discussed.
