Abstract

We have studied experimentally and theoretically the parasitic lasing phenomenon in large-aperture Ti:sapphire crystals to optimize the amplification scheme of petawatt class Ti:sapphire laser. Simulations, first experimental results and strategy of amplification will be presented.
