Novel Eye Monitoring Technique for Detection of First Order PMD

Abstract

A new monitoring technique based on simple three-section eye-diagram sampling is proposed. It is used to identify and predict first order PMD and estimate the differential group delay. A high accuracy with error margin of < +/-10% was achieved.
