Optical generation of linearly chirped microwave pulses using fiber Bragg gratings

Abstract

We demonstrate a new method to generate broad spectrum microwave pulses with an adjustable chirp, using an optical system based on two fiber Bragg gratings and a mode-locked fiber laser.
