Supercontinuum generation and pulse compression in sub-wavelength-sized waveguides

Abstract

We show that using sub-wavelength-diameter waveguides the threshold for supercontinuum generation can be greatly reduced. In addition, we find that soliton-effect pulse compression down to near single cycle durations is predicted.
