Compact Tunable 1.5 mJ/pulse Mid-IR Laser

Abstract

A tunable OPO pumped by a Yb:YAG laser is reported. The idler output energy is 1.5-mJ/pulse. The energy conversion efficiency is 23.4% to idler at 6.4-mJ pump energy, corresponding to about 70% overall OPO efficiency.
