Frequency response and polarization insensitivity of strained MQW optical amplifiers

Abstract

An SOA with both compressive and tensile strained MQWs spanning the 1470-1540nm band is presented. A 25 dB gain, negligible ripple, 0.5 dB polarization dependence and modulation bandwidth of 15 GHz is predicted and measured.
