Abstract
We demonstrate novel metal-defined electro-optic polymer modulators for the first time. Phase modulators fabricated using this technique have a driving voltage of 5.6V and an extinction ratio of ~ 18dB at 1.55µm wavelength. This approach is a promising fabrication technique alternative for passive and EO polymer devices.
