Optical-Feedback-Delay Dependence of Power Dropouts in Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers

Abstract

The influence of delay time on low-frequency fluctuations (LFF) in external-cavity vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers is studied experimentally. With increased external cavity length the average period of LFF increases linearly and power dropouts occur more regularly.
