Abstract
Four-to-six fold rotation-symmetry with sub-µm domain size is observed in periodically-poled LiNbO3. Depth-resolved pyroelectric microscopy analysis indicates the 2D-confinement of inverted domains is ascribed to selective nucleation and minimized fringe-field effect by flattened polystyrene spheres on the surface.
