Photorefractivity of Hafnium-doped Congruent Lithium Niobate Crystals

Abstract

Reduction of photorefractivity in Hf:LiNbO3 crystals is demonstrated to be due to increased photoconductivity; threshold value of HfO2 doping is found to be 4 mol %. Heating effects must be carefully considered for measurements interpretation.
