Bismuth-based extra-high nonlinear optical fiber

Abstract

We report on a bismuth-based nonlinear optical fiber which has a low propagation loss and fusion splicing loss. The nonlinear coefficient of 1200W−1km−1 is measured by the bi-directional four-wave-mixing method.
