Optical trapping and fluorescence detection of polystyrene beads in an all-optical-fiber platform

Abstract

We report the fabrication of an all-fiber, planar-design optical tweezers system used for trapping, excitation and fluorescence detection. The system is capable of detecting fluorescence from a single chemically treated, 6um polystyrene bead.
