High power continuous-wave operation of side-pumped Yb:YAG thin disk laser

Abstract

We have developed a side-pumped Yb:YAG thin disk laser combining the pump-beam focusing technique with the Yb:YAG/YAG composite disk structure. The output power of 235 W was obtained with the optical efficiency of 0.375.
