Novel polarization reversal technique using liquid electrodes and LiNbO3 substrates with patterned grooves

Abstract

A new polarization-reversal technique was demonstrated where high voltage through liquid electrodes was applied to a 3-inch LiNbO3 wafer grooved by sandblast machining. Domain wall movement was automatically terminated at groove boundary without feedback system.
