All-optical time-division add-drop multiplexer using an optical fiber Kerr shutter

Abstract

We propose a novel scheme for all-optical time-division add-drop multiplexing based on an optical Kerr shutter. One 10-Gb/s tributary of a 40-Gb/s signal is exchanged with that of another 40-Gb/s signal by the proposed scheme.
