Multi-terabit per second cross gain modulation in quantum dot amplifiers via excited state lasing

Abstract

A method of exploiting just the fast intra-dot relaxation in quantum dots for signal processing is examined. Simulations showing 2.5Tb/s signal processing and a flat frequency response illustrate the concepts utility in future telecommunication systems.
