Room temperature broadband near-infrared emission from nickel in zinc-alumino-silicate glass

Abstract

Broadband near-infrared emission from nickel in zinc-alumino-silicate glass was observed at room temperature. The center and width of the emission band were ~1400 nm and >300 nm respectively. The emission lifetime was >200 µsec even at room temperature.
