Fourier domain optical coherence tomography to characterize optical fiber cross sections

Abstract

Fourier domain optical coherence tomography is used to reconstruct the cross section of coated optical fibers. A single measurement yields information on the coated and uncoated fiber diameter, and the fiber-coating concentricity.
