Broadband Saturable Bragg Reflectors from the Infrared to Visible using Oxidized AlAs

Abstract

Highly strained semiconductor saturable absorbers are monolithically integrated with large area high-index-contrast mirrors through controlled oxidation of AlAs. This technique is used to create broadband saturable Bragg reflectors for lasers from infrared to visible wavelengths.
