40 Gb/s Reconfigurable Optical CDMA Laser Encoder using Direct Modulated Monolithic Mode-Locked Lasers

Abstract

A novel Optical-CDMA laser encoder is proposed using a monolithic multi-cavity Mode-Locked Laser for switchable code generation. Simulations show that pseudorandom-like 40 Gb/s pulses can be generated showing good orthogonality.
